WHITE WATER and ELIZA are nominated

Congratulations to my wonderful collaborators, Michael S. Bandy, Eric Stein, and Jerdine Nolen for this year's 43rd NAACP nominations for WHITE WATER and ELIZA'S FREEDOM ROAD. I am honored to have been able to contribute to both of these very special projects. Awards will be announced on February 17th on NBC. Good luck to all of this year's nominees!

20th Annual African American Children's Book Festival

Come out to meet and greet your favorite illustrators and writers at this year's African American Book Fair! We are celebrating 20 years of books by African Ameican writers and artists! This is my third year participating and it is always a well attended and well loved event. Congratulations to Vanesse Lloyd-Sgambati for creating, organizing, and sustiaining this amazing community event for 20 years.

In the Studio

See my work alongside the work of John Rocco, Taeeun Yoo, Jonathan Bean, Eric Brace, Meghan McCarthy, Hyewon Yum, and Sean Qualls this January through March 3, at St. John's University in an exhibition of children's book illustration! The show highlights the development of a book from start to finish. This is a rare opportunity to see artists' sketches, book dummies, and printer's notes.
